Classes for both public and private schools are suspended in select areas on Thursday, September 19, 2019 due to bad weather brought by tropical depression “Nimfa” and by the southwest monsoon.
Here are the areas declared by its local government unit where classes are suspended:
Preschool to Senior High School
- San Quintin
- Nueva Ecija
Preschool and Elementary
- Mabalacat City
- Angeles City

According to PAGASA, as of 3:00 PM this afternoon they have spotted that the tropical depression Nimfa is situated at 745 Km east northeast of Basco Batanes. Nimfa carries a maximum wind at 55 KPH and has a gustiness of 70KPH. The movement of the said tropical depression is slow towards the northeast.
Also, as per the weather bureau, the chances of Nimfa to make landfall is low.
On the other hand, the other low-pressure area (LPA) that they’re tracking located in the vicinity of Sto. Tomas, La Union is expected to dissipate in the next 48 hours and will be part of the TD Nimfa’s trough.
Likewise, the southwest monsoon or “hanging habagat” will continue to bring rains in the large portion of Central and South Luzon as well as in Western Visayas.
