Barangay Ginebra San Miguel import Justin Brownlee seems can’t miss last night as he registered 28 points against the Alaska Aces at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Apart from his scoring surge, Brownlee also logged nine rebounds and eight assists which is almost a triple-double performance. He also shoots 57 percent from the field which also includes 3-of-6 from behind the three-point arc.
Coach Tim Cone kept Brownlee in the bench for the entire fourth quarter as the lead was getting out of hand. The Gin Kings led as much as 33 points that was after the 8-1 surge orchestrated by Alaska at the start of the third quarter.
Coach Cone himself even can’t believe with the outcome of the game. He thinks that they have eaten some kind of a magic foods.
“We’re in a good roll, and we’ll go with it as long as we can,” Cone said after the game, as his team racked up its fourth win in a row.
“I wish we had some magic food that we’re eating or something, and we’ll just keep feeding them,” he added.
His counterpart import Antonio Campbell played an opposite game and had a dismal performance. Campbell only logged six points and failed to lead his teammates.
If Coach Cone thinks of a “magic food”, Alaska Aces coach Alex Compton thinks the other way around.
“I don’t know what happened,” said Compton. “We ate something. We drank something. But whatever it is, it’s absolutely, a hundred percent unacceptable.”
